A bit of my backstory: As a woman, my main focus for the past 18 years has been to make sure I am able and available to parenting. When I haven’t been doing that I have been a forever learner, compiling information, reaching new levels of understanding. when I haven’t been a professional, i have chosen to share many parts of my personal life on social media. this too is a part of me Robyn Pickett. I know how to differentiate without disregard.
there was a time in my life before children that I worked as a successful consultant and that skill set has stayed with me. i know how to be of service to clents and truly listen with the intent of matching a solution from my knowledge, research and application of it to their needs. i know how to nurture progress.
my curiosity has been passionately captured by the professional and corporate world and I have entered it as a member of the public on a voluntary and research basis.
In doing so I have unwittingly challenged people accustomed to that way of being and left them wondering why I am there, who I am, where I come from, how I know what I know, and given the opportunity I have asked questions or shared a perspective that is not in keeping with their strategy. I have always found their behaviour interesting on how they rise to the occasion and presence of someone new among them with a point of view whether it is voiced … or not.
The thing is, I have this plan, goal, idea in addition to and beyond consultancy work. With This Pause and its charitable organization And Pause have a strategic direction I am taking them in.
there is value to be found in the products and services I have to sell, but there also is extraordinary value in my ability to bring people together in diverse and creative ways. Through that capacity there is beneficial and extraordinary growth to be found for everyone involved.
